Evergreen assists you with environmental

and OSHA requirements so you can focus on

what is important - managing your business.

Evergreen Environmental Inc., was founded by Jerry W. McCandless in 1986 as an environmental consulting firm offering technical assistance and hazardous waste management services to area facilities. Dr. McCandless noticed a niche for companies who could assist small and large facilities that had no environmental staff to help in the areas of environmental engineering, regulatory interpretation, remediation, and proper disposal of waste products.

In the year 2000, Dr. McCandless began transitioning towards retirement while solidifying the longevity of Evergreen. Jennifer Elder, President of Evergreen, purchased stock which made Evergreen Environmental a majority women owned and managed business. In addition, Dr. McCandless has also made plans for the employees to share in 30% of the profit and ownership of the company. Since the employees are "owners" of the company, everyone has a vested interest in our clients' satisfaction and company longevity.

Evergreen's relationship with our clients can be summed up in one word: RESPONSIVENESS. In the environmental field so much time is spent waiting for something to happen. Evergreen has made good contacts and maintains a good rapport with the local, state, and federal agencies regulating the environment, making it easier to get answers to specific questions. In addition, maintaining a good working relationship with treatment, storage, and disposal facilities makes for expeditious approvals when our clients have an emergency. Evergreen's management team audits each facility to which wastes are sent to ensure compliance with regulations and that they are the best waste treatment or disposal alternative available to our clients.

As the needs of our clients have evolved, so have the capabilities of Evergreen Environmental. To better serve our clients Evergreen developed a new division, Field Services, for asbestos/lead abatement, monitoring, analysis, and industrial hygiene projects in 1997. In 1999 a Lexington Office was opened and two more divisions were formed to meet the growing demands of our clients in the areas of remediation and health and safety. The Remediation Division has personnel and our own heavy equipment, such as backhoes and vacuum trucks, to assist project managers and other consultants with remediation or industrial cleaning projects. The Health and Safety Division performs health and safety compliance audits and training for existing clients as well as for the general construction industry.

With the beginning of the year 2000 Evergreen created a Chemical Division (Environmental Solutions) which handles recycling of surplus chemicals and enhances our disposal abilities for clients while maintaining a cost advantage. Evergreen Environmental continues to look for opportunities to add services for our clients and work toward a cleaner environment.
